Trip Overview

Dolpo is a Buddhist region on the borderlands of Nepal and Tibet is a rugged, wild and remote region visited by only a handful of trekkers each season. On this challenging itinerary we approach Dolpo from the south following trails through pristine forests and over high alpine ridges to the administrative headquarters at Dunai. We then follow yak herders trails to the fabled Phuksumdo Lake before crossing two high passes to the remote settlements of Do Tarap. We complete this magnificent trek descending through a series of dramatic gorges to Juphal and our flight back to Kathmandu .
