Trek through the tropical Arun Valley to the alpine of Khumbu region with splendid views of the Mt. Everest. This outstanding trek follows the less-frequented forest trails of the Arun Valley to the high alpine pastures at Gokyo Lakes in the

Khumbu region. Diversity is the hallmark of this itinerary. There are few treks in Nepal that can match with the vast geographic contrasts as you ascend from the tropical valleys, across forested ridges to the rugged terrain of the high Mountain. From Kathmandu you will fly to Tumlingtar and your trek start up the Arun Valley. You pass through villages that until a generation ago provided a vital trading route between Tibet and Nepal. You acclimatize as you follow little-known trails that lead through rice paddies and ascend rhododendron, sycamore and oak forest to the high ridges that separate the Arun and Dudh Kosi Valley. Your approach to Everest region takes you up the Dudh Kosi Valley to Namche Bazaar and the Khumbu region homeland of Sherpas. You are now in the heart of the Khumbu region. Fit and acclimatized, you will leave the main trail for the alpine yak pastures of Gokyo valley. From your camp beside the serene waters of the Dudh Pokhari you will admire the peaks at the head of the huge, tumbling Ngozumba Glacier. Trekking higher you reach Gokyo RI 5360m to view the Panorama of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. As you stand on the summit of Gokyo RI gazing in awe at the world's highest peaks, it is hard to believe that you are now at 4500m above your first tropical campsite at Tumlingtar.
