 A spectacular trek following remote trails into the heart of the Annapurnas.
It is hard to surpass this two weeks trek into the heart of the Annapurnas, following trails through remote villages, and luxuriant forest to gain incomparable views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. From Pokhara we ascend a series of forested ridges and Villages. We enjoy the tranquility of trails that lead through forests of rhododendron, Daphne and orchids, and pass traditional Gurung villages. Our first views of Hiunchuli and Annapurna south are a taste of things to come as we gradually ascend through rhododendron forest and alpine meadows to camp beneath the awesome Fang Face of Annapurna I. From our stunning campsite we include a day walk past Hindu shrines to the sacred Lake of Khaire Barahaa . The huge summit ridges of Dhaulagiri dominate the horizon. Yet this is no ordinary view of the Himalaya , for between our camp and the summit lie the misty depths of the Kali Gandakhi Gorge – the deepest gorge in the world. The stunning panorama is a reminder of the scale of the Himalaya, with the river tumbling over 7000 meters from the snowy heights of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Savoring these views we head back to Pokhara, following trails where the villages still retain the charm and character of rural Nepal .
